Polyminium 2.0

Polyminium 2.0 is a residential-grade foil glass cloth facing consisting of two layers of aluminium foil and fibreglass cloth. The product offers high tensile strength and good abrasion resistance, making it suitable for use as a radiant barrier in pitched roof applications.

Typical Applications

  • Residential pitched roofs
  • Timber and steel roof structures
  • New build and retrofit installations

Polyminium 2.0 is designed to be installed beneath roof battens or purlins and functions as a radiant barrier when installed with an appropriate air gap.

Fire Performance

  • Fire rating: B-s1,d0
  • Test standard: SANS 53501-1

This classification indicates limited contribution to fire, low smoke production and no flaming droplets.

Installation Overview

Polyminium 2.0 is supplied in roll form and should be
installed horizontally across rafters or trusses, starting at the eaves and working towards the ridge.

Key installation considerations include:
• The reflective foil surface must face towards the roof covering
• All joints should overlap by a minimum of 150 mm
• The material must be installed tightly and securely fixed
• An air gap must be maintained between the insulation and the roof covering
Full installation instructions are provided on the product packaging.
